Document retention

It is our policy to retain documents for business effected on your behalf in electronic or paper format for a minimum of 6 years; pensions, however, will be kept indefinitely. Thereafter, we may destroy documents without further reference to you.

It is possible for claims to be made long after a policy has expired for certain types of insurance. It is therefore important that you keep your policy documentation safely, and in accordance with statutory requirements.

The information in this Site is based on our understanding of current law at the present time. Future changes in legislation and practice could affect the information on this Site.

Supportive Financial Planning Limited is covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). The FOS was set up by law to provide consumers with a free, independent service for resolving disputes with financial firms. If you are not happy with any aspect of our service, please let us know. We will take the first opportunity to resolve matters. In the unlikely event that we are unable to resolve a dispute with you to your satisfaction, you may be entitled to refer it to the FOS. Further information about the FOS can be found by logging onto the Financial Ombudsman website.

Supportive Financial Planning Limited is a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme established under the Financial Services Act 2000. You may be entitled to compensation from this scheme in the event that we are unable to meet our liabilities.
